HISTORY MADE FOR PEI SWIMMING!

October 8, 2026

A huge congratulations to Erik Thompson, of the Charlottetown Bluephins Aquatic Club, who has been selected to receive Development Card status through Sport Canada’s Athlete Assistance Program (AAP)! 🇨🇦
Erik becomes the first PEI swimmer ever to receive this status — an incredible milestone for both Erik, his coach Tom Ponting, and our Island swimming community!
We at Swim PEI couldn’t be more excited to see where Erik goes from here and what this achievement could mean for the future of competitive swimming on PEI.
Congratulations, Erik — we can’t wait to see what’s next! 💪🏊‍♂️🌊
